The disclosure, in one paragraph
Beacon Hub carries paid links to one product: TotalAV. If you follow such a link and take out a subscription, the merchant that runs the affiliate programme pays this site a fixed commission. You pay the vendor's ordinary price — the commission is deducted from the vendor's margin, not added to your bill, and going through our link never costs you more than going direct. That payment is the whole reason this site has a commercial relationship with any product, and it is disclosed on the homepage, beside every paid link, and here.
Who is paid, by whom
The publisher is BRAWLLAND s.r.o., Na Folimance 2155/15, Vinohrady, 120 00 Praha 2, Czech Republic, company number 08473609, VAT CZ08473609. It receives commission from the affiliate network operating the programme for the vendor. Beacon Hub has no contractual relationship with you, takes no payment from you, and receives nothing from any other company mentioned on this site.
The commission is a fixed amount per completed subscription, not a share of what you spend. There is no financial reason for this site to steer anyone towards a more expensive plan, and it does not attempt to — no plan is recommended anywhere here, and no price appears on this site at all.
What the arrangement does not make us
Beacon Hub is not TotalAV, and is not a reseller, retailer, agent, partner, authorised distributor or representative of it. We are a publisher that is paid for referrals. Practically, that means we cannot see your account, cannot see whether you subscribed, cannot alter or cancel a subscription, cannot issue a refund and cannot resolve a billing dispute. All of that is between you and the vendor, through the contact details on the vendor's own site.
It also means we are not told who you are. Following a link from here does not identify you to us; we receive an aggregate payment from the network and nothing that identifies an individual reader.

What does determine the content
Coverage order follows the order a reader's questions actually arise: what your devices already do, then what the mechanisms are, then what remains for a paid product, then what the subscription will cost you over time and what your rights are if it goes wrong. Within pages, options are grouped by the household they suit rather than ranked, because a site with one commercial relationship cannot honestly produce a ranking of a market.
The scope is narrow and stated plainly on the about page: this site covers the category, and covers one product commercially. We would rather be a small honest site than a large one pretending to survey a market it is paid by.
How to identify a paid link
- It is the only outbound link on this site that goes to a software vendor. Every other external link goes to an Australian government body or regulator, and none of those is paid.
- It carries a disclosure line immediately above it, in ordinary body text, on the same screen — never in small print and never hidden behind a control.
- It is marked in the page's own code with
rel="sponsored nofollow", which is the standard machine-readable declaration of a paid link, and it opens in a new tab. - Its address is the merchant's, visible in your browser's status bar before you click. We do not route links through this domain, do not use cloaking or shortened addresses, and do not rewrite the destination in JavaScript.
No redirects, no interstitials
There are no automatic redirects on this site, no pages that bounce you onward, no pop-ups, no exit-intent overlays and no "continue to offer" gates. Every page shows every reader the same content. The link is a plain link, and it only goes anywhere when you choose to follow it.
The legal position
Disclosing a commercial relationship is not a courtesy. Under the Australian Consumer Law, misleading or deceptive conduct in trade is prohibited, and an endorsement that conceals payment is capable of misleading. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission publishes guidance for consumers and businesses at accc.gov.au. We take the view that a disclosure worth making is one a reader will actually see, which is why it appears in body text near the link rather than in a footnote.
